Actually, it’s Empathy, not compassion. Compassion literally means “to suffer with”, and I have dated that person. No thanks!

Empathy is sorely lacking in the dating world, at any age, because people are so attached to what THEY are looking for. Of course! And if we’re honest, most of that is just a projection that we expect someone else to live up to. What a mess!

What’s the solution? Maybe it’s as simple as just enjoying the moment with someone and letting go of our “future stories”. Or maybe we’re just doomed!
