All good points and suggestions. Very helpful for someone like me with a research and publishing background. But I suspect that you are preaching to the choir. Most people are persuaded by what seems consistent with what they already believe or want to be true. And then there are those who pedal misinformation for self-serving and even nefarious reasons.

BTW, lots of misinformation here on Medium. Some well meaning authors are clearly not discerning readers of scientific publications. Plus, the misuse of statistical methods, mostly an error of omission rather than commission, is rampant in the medical scientific literature. I’m certainly not qualified to dig into the deep weeds on statistical methodology.
