And that’s the problem, isn’t it. There are all these stories about God that people latch onto, and of course, people latch onto the ones that serve their interests. But what about the God that created black holes, which obliterate all nearby matter, whether living or dead? Nature has no pity or mercy. And we are merely a part of nature. We are not inherently more special than any other part of nature. For some, that is an unbearable thought. Believing in all the stories, though, keeps one from connecting with what is really going on, even though it is entirely ineffable.
