Big fan of the teachings of Lao Tzu. I agree with the benefits of simplicity. I suggest to replace “complexity” with “complicated” in this context, though. Nature is highly complex, in fact it is highly elegant in its complexity, while we humans are complicated and complicate things unnecessarily. I’ll also suggest that the ego, which certainly can contribute to our complicated state of being, can also be an ally in our striving for simplicity. I base this on my readings of the Jungian analyst Robert Johnson, one of my favorite authors, who described using the ego to bring our hidden crap into consciousness, where can finally deal with it.
