Blame, blame, blame! That’s all we do these days. The fact is, the demand for testing steadily declined as more people became either vaccinated or infected. In fact, this was greater than 80% of the US population as of May 2021, based on results from more than one million samples from blood donations. Then the Delta variant hit, but that spike too waned. And now omicron! Even if we had stockpiled millions of antigen tests, they would be of limited value now because of the antigenic shift in the virus. We cannot expect government or industry to keep saving the day if a large portion of the population continues to ignore, and even aggressively resist, common sense public health measures.

Blame is no substitute for taking responsibility! However, taking responsibility is the perfect substitute for blame.
