By definition, a disciple is one who learns. In order to learn, one must have an open mind. That can feel dangerous and frightening to those who have settled on a version of reality that fits their comfort zone. A true disciple questions conventional wisdom and is open to information that could shatter their current perspective. That takes courage. We know that the disciples of Jesus wavered in their courage. It wasn’t easy following a radical disruptor of the existing conventional wisdom. Now, Christianity has become the conventional wisdom for many.
