Emotional agility is about recognizing that it is normal to experience a spectrum of emotions, and not default to getting stuck in stress-induced emotions. Naming the emotion one is experiencing is a great tip. That is the starting point for a particular situation. Understanding the choices one has for how to experience any given situation, starting with different options for how to think about the situation, leads to greater emotional agility. This is the basis of the Energy Leadership coaching process I use, so I really enjoyed reading Aytekin’s perspective.
