Wisdom doesn’t come from an Ashram, or a church, or a mosque. It comes from living a long life and experiencing its joys and heartbreaks. It comes from learning from our failures. And it comes from learning what’s important and what’s not. That’s when we can filter out the noise and get to the essence of what matters.

Spiritual guides can be helpful, even when they are sharing what is already known. It’s when they claim or infer to be the author of such wisdom that we should be very skeptical.
