Excellent article! This is such important information for people to understand. I learned to recognize my limiting beliefs, and I love helping others excavate theirs.

Just a thought about this example:

Belief: I’m afraid of having a tough conversation with my soon-to-be ex-wife. Reframe: I will face this conversation with courage. I have the necessary skills. It will be liberating and easy.

The belief that you were experiencing the emotion of fear in that situation was absolutely true. Of course you were afraid. I suspect the actual belief was something different, maybe involving a sense shame or defectiveness (as is so often the case).

BTW, emotions like fear and anger are what we notice in situations, but they are always secondary to some limiting belief. Always. So it’s a good way to recognize that some limiting belief has been triggered.
