Good and bad are human judgments. God just IS. People can’t accept that because they want God to intervene on their behalf. That’s why he sent Jesus, right? I’m afraid not. Of course we would like divine intervention. Life is difficult, unbearable at times. But God just IS. The closer we can get to that, the closer we can get to God. The Christian mystics have understood that. Fundamentalist Christians probably never will.
