Great article, except for “This a job interview.” Really? What’s the job? If you approach dating as looking for your soulmate or one true love, then yes, it’s an interview. And that’s so often the problem. I have been the interviewee, with some women even asking me what were my goals for the next five years. My response? At this point in my life, I don’t need goals. I’m on a different path, which is not constructed with the bricks of my accomplishments.

What you need to know about me, and vice versa, can’t be ascertained in an interview. So let’s just see what happens, be open to possibilities, and be honest with each other and ourselves.

As you wrote, that can be the tough part.
