Great design always includes functionality, as well as aesthetics. That’s the main lesson from IDEO, at least, back in the day. When design becomes a slave to marketing, functionality tends to get sacrificed. As much as I like Apple products, they have always been arrogant in their approach to customers. It’s the “We know what’s best for you” mindset.
