I agree with this, in principle. Whatever rights or entitlements are bestowed upon us are the result of a social agreement. They are human constructs, and they differ among different societies. In fact, nature doesn’t give a crap about us. It doesn’t consider good vs bad.

Along those lines, your laments, which I largely share, simply reflect a shift in social norms. That will lead to shifts in social agreements and “rights”. A great example is the loss of women’s reproductive rights in many states. Restoring those rights will require a new social agreement, in which the majority of voters dislodge the legislators who are turning back the clock.
