I did a lot of traveling in my academic and corporate jobs. For a while, I had global positions and traveled the world in business class, staying in nice hotels. That was the bomb! Then I moved into a US based role in which my traveling was usually in coach and staying in OK hotels. Too many trips to Orlando, Vegas, and anyplace else that had an airport! After several years of that, I am content to enjoy the little resort that is my home.
