I get several emails each day from entities representing politicians from all over the country asking for money. Five dollars is a common ask. This all started when I did send money to a candidate. I don’t like getting bombarded by these emails, and I really don’t know how this money is being used or what difference it makes. Besides, I’d go broke pretty quickly supporting all these requests. I mean, we have billionaires controlling the media from all angles, including funding PACs, which buy ads on their own media holdings.

I would prefer that campaigns ask for funding for specific purposes, like “Here’s an ad- or a storyboard for an ad- we want to run in this market and we need your support.” At least I’d know what I am supporting and would probably give more than just 5 bucks.
