I guess I am not surprised that polyps are very inconsistent in their bleeding, compared to actual cancerous lesions. Plus, there can be other sources of blood from the gut.

What is the accuracy of the colon cancer DNA test (ColoGuard)?

I’ve had a few colonoscopies, with some polyps removed during some of them. As a veterinary gastroenterologist, that always seemed the way to go. To your point, though, if people are given expectation that these tests are accurate, then physicians need to provide thorough counseling to their patients on this topic. I’ll bet most of them think the tests are more accurate than they are, though.
