I have no dog in this fight, but the paper that you cite was not a study, but a report of several studies. Only a large, prospective, randomized, double blind study will answer the question. Like ones done for actual regulatory approval. The challenge will be that pain is so subjective, it differs by affected body part, there is a large placebo effect, and the CBD effect is probably more subtle than for NSAIDs or opioids.
