I suggest that labeling people, usually based on initial impressions, is counterproductive in dating and life in general. Attachment Styles have relevance, but more so for oneself or as a partnership communication tool than as an identifier applied to others. We’d all be far more satisfied digging into our own stuff than creating a list of stereotypes to apply to the rest of the world. Labeling and stereotyping are actually behaviors associated with a self protective stress mindset. Our brains love doing this, because it literally uses much less energy than trying to understand the nuances of our complex partners.
