I’d like to see more people recognize this. I am on some online dating sites (aaarrggghh) and I see so many women in their 50s and 60s write about wanting find their soulmate, true love, THE ONE! That’s sad. It sets the bar so high, who could possibly be good enough? Not me!
Robert Johnson wrote several books that covered the subject of love, from the perspective of men and women. Differentiating romantic love and infatuation from mature love is crucial. One can experience the former, and that is delicious, but it is transient. Mature love, though, in which we see our partner for who THEY are, not our projection of what we want them to be, is lasting.
