If we think about marriage as a basically a legal agreement between two adults then sure, often things don’t work out, and we move on. However, when there are children and other significant commitments involved, its not so simple as, “I need more autonomy”. I am not commenting on the author or her situation, because I don’t know them, but I think as a society we tend to be selfish and take the easy way out too often. And I believe it’s often because we are not willing or able to face our shit and really grow to our human potential. A generalization for sure, but there’s some truth in it.
