If you don’t like it then leave-and please take me with you! I keep being more and more disappointed in what our country has become. Of course we’re not perfect, but I never imagined we would come to this. Seventy years ago America was the light of the world. Our peoples’ sacrifices, and that of millions of others, defeated international fascism. And we were stalwart against the Soviet version of fascism. As existential threats seemed to wane, our focus on self waxed. This shows up as a preoccupation with pleasure and comfort (I want to go to the bar, wah), and also perverted idealizations of “Liberty”.

But wait, most people now are wearing masks. Most people do want to see real change to achieve social justice. And most people disapprove of the rhetoric coming from the White House. Yes, we are failing. We can reclaim a national identity that we are proud of, but we will need to relentlessly stand up to those who will drag us down. That includes telling them to wear a fucking mask!😉
