I’m not a Christian, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness with which you approach your faith. It seems that the lesson in Jesus’ behavior is that we all have to learn and grow, often behaving badly along the way. The pathway to the Kingdom of Heaven is rocky and treacherous. Most Christians seem to want Jesus to remove all these obstacles for them. I don’t think that was ever the intention.
