Imagine this in a non-verbal, cognitively impaired young lady who has no idea what’s going on! That’s my daughter. After 10 years of menstrual quiescence, she developed severe agitation, often inconsolable, except with music. After two months of this and pulling out the few hairs I had left trying figure this out, and feeling guilty because I am medically trained, she started menstruating. Ohhh!

Long story, short, last year she did this again, although less severely. This year she got an ovary preserving hysterectomy, because uterine pain was a big component of her issues. She has been having some nighttime agitation, right on cue, this Spring, but this has been completely managed with a very low dose of Atavan.

Her situation is somewhat unique, including winter quiescence of her menstrual cycle. It’s an interesting interaction of reproductive hormones and her brain. I believe the worst is behind her, but man, that was awful. Best wishes to all you ladies suffering with this.
