It stopped being interesting once I figured out the tricks. Shortly after making the jump from academia to corporate, I was in a global project meeting that was chock full of acronyms that I didn’t understand. When the meeting was finished and the project leader left the room, I asked the others if they had understood all that. They all shook their heads “No”! I knew right then that I’d be fine. Just figure out the BS and I’d be ahead of about 90 percent of the rest. And, the BSers would figure out that I wasn’t fooled anymore and then many actually just communicated normally and openly. Those who didn’t were the dangerous ones to be avoided. That kind of summed it up.
