It strikes me that people in law enforcement would naturally default to a “what’s wrong” mindset. That is mostly what they deal with, after all. How could they be expected to just flip a switch when they get home. Of course, that doesn’t mean that a partner would want to live with that. Regardless of this specific situation, it seems that people directly involved in law enforcement would need counseling/therapy as an ongoing process. It should just be a part of the job. This will not only benefit them and their families, it will benefit their community! I wonder if such programs are in place.
