It’s an interesting take on the situation, but like most attempted explanations it’s probably much too simplistic and generalized. You’re not wrong about specific things that you mention, but I think the real reasons are more deeply visceral. Tom Friedman described a sense of humiliation and desire for respect that Trump embodies. I suspect this is what resonated with many voters, without them even realizing it.
