Jung’s observations are important and largely relevant today. However, his devotion to Christianity displays a huge blind spot. Christianity, at least the institutional manifestation, divided us into good and bad, which is just one degree from identifying people as Other. We see this in the U.S. with immigrants and transgender people and with Israel in their de-humanization of the Palestinians. Examples abound throughout the world. It’s a primitive survival mechanism that always leads to mass suffering in today’s world.
