Not sure what assessments you are referring to. I have taken many over the years. Most of these are some sort of personality assessment, and if one answers the questions truthfully, they tend to be quite accurate. This can be very beneficial for people who have low self awareness, just going through the motions day after day. Nonetheless, many of these assessments are not very actionable, as you indicate. “OK, this is my personality. Am I supposed to change that? How? (Maybe HR can help me.”😆😆😆😆🙄)
I use a different type of assessment tool that is about HOW you are, rather than WHO you are. It is a tool for getting to the “why” of people’s self protective behaviors, which is something we definitely can change. It also is a powerful tool for reframing stressful situations, so we can make choices other than just our stereotypical knee jerk reactions.
