People miss the point of free speech, at least as the courts have ruled here. One is free to express a point of view, but not foment violence or personal injury. And one cannot impugn another with lies within the framework of free speech. Musk clearly does not care about that, as he demonstrated by furthering the malicious rumor about Paul Pelosi having a homosexual affair with his assailant.

The question becomes who decides what is out of bounds. We don’t have the legal capacity to adjudicate every slander and libel on social media platforms. Just keeping the Russian trolls at bay is tough enough. Someone will always be unhappy when a filter is applied to them.
