People totally misconstrue “freedom” as it is popularly thought of in our society today. The right wing bellowing of FREEDOM, usually accompanied by a picture of the American flag, is really just childish selfishness. “I want to be able to do whatever I want!”

Neither is freedom about choices.

Freedom, true freedom, is the ability to be who you really are. Free of one’s emotional baggage and associated maladaptive coping behaviors. Free of the need for approval from others. And most importantly, free of critical self judgment. That version of freedom is a sublime way of being.
