People were aware of the reduction in illegal border crossings. For political purposes, it was too little, too late. Even the liberal media saturated us with images of hundreds of illegal immigrants coming across the border with no resistance. They were processed then set free. Even to traditional liberals, like me, this made no sense. Of course, the issue is “traditional”, liberal or conservative. Neither the radical right nor progressive left bear any resemblance to traditional conservatism or liberalism. We are left with cruel MAGA policies or inane Progressive policies. Sadly, a majority of voting Americans chose cruel over inane.

A sidebar: my Congressman is Juan Ciscomani. Ugh! He won by a slim margin over an especially poor Democrat candidate, and that margin comprised 2.5% of voters who voted for a Green Party candidate. That type of righteousness is self-defeating, and now we have what we have.
