So what are these low wage earners doing if they are not earning low wages? Seriously. If millions of people are sitting on the employment sidelines, how are they surviving? I don’t believe welfare payments have gone up substantially, or the Republicans would be howling about that. The pandemic free money must have already run out, especially for those who live paycheck to paycheck. No one seems to have the answer to this fundamental question.

And by the way, if these folks do decide to return to the employment mix and we are in the midst of a recession, it’s going to be bad news.
