Somewhat adjacent to this topic is that a lot of big companies are slowing down or freezing hiring. They are letting normal attrition reduce their workforce expenses. This is likely now the new normal on a macro level, for awhile at least. In this type of environment, the balance of power shifts towards the employer. People should recognize this and adjust their thinking accordingly.
