I would add, Life ain’t fair, so don’t get caught up in that mind trap. And, don’t wait too long to get out.

I was fortunate that when it was my turn to experience this, courtesy of the company being bought, I was close enough to retirement to take a decent severance and get out while the gettin was good. Others who tried to stick it out ended up being pushed out with less to show for it. If I had been 10 years earlier in my career I would have been a very unhappy camper, I’m sure.
