Thank you for sharing this. The web of subsidies and indemnities is so complex, each with its own special interest group, that it is difficult to sort out good investments from handouts. And I recognize the threat of industrial farming to family or coop farming. And the influence of powerful lobbies. So there is lots of room for reform, but very little incentive to conduct such reform in a rational way. So we get the Trump blowtorch approach. And by the way, didn’t most farmers vote for Trump? Why on earth?

I suspect that lobbyists and Congress will influence final outcomes. And of course that probably leaves the small-midsized farmer screwed.
