The FDA is by its nature a cautious, methodical, process driven agency. That is almost always a good thing. What the pandemic has shown is that large government agencies and their processes are poorly equipped to handle rapidly changing situations. But it’s also shown that our society at large is not much better. It’s also revealed how fear causes people to cling to their beliefs and fuels their mistrust. That’s where blame comes in.
