The notion of Asians being so much more enlightened than the west is BS. Do Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, China, or North Korea seem enlightened? Are the common people in Asia particularly enlightened? No! There are wonderful and important teachings that originated in Asia. Also true for indigenous Americas. Much of Europe, from which western culture arose, was barbaric. The culture that arose from the Greeks and Romans was very intellect based, and that has led to much of the dichotomy between Eastern and Western philosophies.
