This makes sense, and it is true…sometimes. In other situations this is an overly simplistic explanation. In fact, there are many reasons for ghosting. It usually reflects some coping mechanism of the ghoster or the ghostee to deal with an uncomfortable situation or insecurity (assuming it is not some malicious bot or other faker). The ghoster no longer wants to interact, or the ghostee won’t let go. Either way, it is a behavior that raises a red flag about that person’s emotional maturity. Valuable information, for sure.
