This seems like good advice, but like a lot of good advice it can be very difficult to implement. Admittedly, I would like an intimate relationship, but even when I have expressed being open to a more friendship-based relationship, it doesn’t seem to pan out. It seems that there are hidden agendas, buried histories, and an overwhelming reluctance to being vulnerable on any level. That’s my perspective. I could be wrong.
