This vet was not unscrupulous. She had the “ expert” mindset. She would not listen to your wishes, because she wanted to practice according to her knowledge, believing it was best for the pet. It is a common mindset in human and veterinary medicine. What is the remedy? Say loudly and clearly, “ I need you to listen to me!” I have had to do this when my daughter was hospitalized and was literally dying in front of me ( she’s good now)

By the way, takes one to know one, meaning I could succumb to expert mindset back in the day.
