Three words characterize worry: fear, uncertainty, and control. We fear outcomes that may happen in situations about which we are uncertain and over which we do not believe we have control. So, during a ‘worry break” I suggest addressing these three words.

  1. What am I afraid of, and how likely is that to happen?
  2. What specifically is creating the uncertainty, and what can I do to create greater clarity, or to what extent can I live with that uncertainty?
  3. What is it that I need to control and can control, and over what can I let go of control?

I would probably call this a clarity break.
