Very good article. My experience, in a different type of company, was quite different. An effort to reorganize R&D to make it more transparent and efficient turned into a power battle and all about control. Ultimately, a year after the reorganization it was all tossed aside and things reverted back to opacity and restoration of the power of managers. It was interesting to observe.
