It does remind me of the old saying, “There are lies, damned lies, and then there are statistics!”
I’m not qualified to critique the statistical analyses, but I know from working with statisticians that very often incorrect statistical methods are applied. These can be highly impressive and persuasive.
Here’s my real issue with all of this. I believe it would be naive to think that key information has not been suppressed by the PRC, regardless of the origin of the virus. That makes me believe that this exercise in retroactively applying probability analyses to unrelated available data is really an exercise in futility. The critical data are probably missing, forever. I don’t think that’s conspiracy theory, it’s just considering who the main actors are and understanding how they operate.
