Wow. Thank you for sharing this. I wonder how you keep from having others’ emotional traumas trigger memories of your own suffering. I suppose sharing your experiences is one way to keep them in the light and not lurk about.

There’s a lot of conclusions one could make after reading this. The one I’ve landed on is that being human is incredibly difficult. Parenting even moreso. How are we supposed to nurture these young and impressionable humans when we don’t feel nurtured ourselves? And, by the way, not too long ago in our history that wasn’t even expected. Kids worked on the farm, did chores in the village, when not running feral, and no one said, “You should do a better job of parenting.” Fascinating!
