Wow. Thank you for sharing this. The Lisa story is the most despicable thing that I have read “in the name of the Lord”. This mindset is ongoing and afflicts millions of people, I’m afraid. It’s a societal psychosis.

I had lunch with a very nice lady who had been a missionary in Mexico for an evangelical organization. She now lives on a church-owned property among a community of others in her organization. She described a patriarchal, fear based, misogynistic, controlling culture that is antithetical to her actual faith. She seemed to feel trapped and even nervous to be seen with me. I imagine that she might have very good reasons to feel that way.

The irony in all of this is that these people create the very hell that they desperately wish to avoid.
