Yes. and it can be more. The key is to not have any goal at all, but to simply sit (or stand, or walk…) with whatever is in that moment. If your goal is to have a quiet mind, your inevitable thoughts will be a source of annoyance or even failure. If your goal is to be enlightened, your insights will be an extension of your ego. You CAN have a quiet mind and even find some enlightenment, absent those being a goal.

And speaking of annoyance, Adam Grant has become the king of “pithy” aphorisms that pretend to impart some amazing wisdom, but could just as easily be found inside a fortune cookie.
