YES! I have just embarked on the same journey, and everything you mentioned rings true. I even found Marty Schwartz while looking into some Neil young songs. I have missed two or three days in the past three months, but I was still thinking about a song. I find that my 15–20 minutes invariably becomes 45, because I’m totally engrossed.

Your comment on electric guitar rings true, because I have arthritic wrists and the bridge chords really don’t feel good. Plus, the arthritis affects my hand strength. I would prefer an acoustic guitar that’s easier on the wrists, but haven’t found it yet.
