Yes, I tend to read research papers that way. The problem, as we learned during the covid pandemic (initial ivermectin reports, for example) is that one still needs to dig deeper in order to determine whether the conclusions are valid. In particular, there’s the matter of statistical analysis. I’ve worked with a lot of statisticians and have gotten many different perspectives on “right” and “wrong” ways to conduct analyses. Made my head hurt! I do know that more often than not, study design and statistical analyses can be criticized, making the conclusions not so conclusive.
